Places ranked

All towns and cities for the selected year and measure. The three cities are highly urbanized cities reported separately from the province. The province figure is PSA’s own series; the published town figures do not always add up to it, because some permits are recorded only at province level.

Construction statistics from approved building permits

PSA OpenSTAT tables 0012G4CBPC0 (2006–2021) and 0022G4GBPC1 (2022–2024), compiled from the building permits approved by city and municipal building officials and submitted to PSA. Number of permits, floor area in square metres and value in thousand pesos, by type of construction, for every city and municipality.

What a permit does and does not say

An approved permit means construction was authorised, not that it was built or finished. The value is the cost declared by the applicant on the permit, in the pesos of that year, so values across years also carry inflation. Submissions from local offices can arrive late, so the latest year is usually revised upward later.

Places and types

Cebu Province here is PSA’s province series without the three highly urbanized cities, which are reported separately. The town figures published under the province do not always add up to the province figure; the difference is recorded at province level only. The 2006–2021 tables list demolitions and street furniture as their own types; the 2022–2024 tables list other constructions. Both are shown here as Other, so that row is not comparable across 2021 and 2022.

What the figures can and cannot say

They show where and how much construction was authorised, and of what kind. They do not show demand, prices, completed projects or public infrastructure, which is permitted and funded differently. Extracted through the PSA OpenSTAT API on .
